The Portal Software

The LYNXX software is the heart of the LYNXX system. LYNXX users can explore the system’s features through a highly sophisticated modern user interface providing stakeholders with tools enhancing project monitoring, management and collaboration using an up-to date digital history of the construction site told via the LYNXX units on the construction site.

SINGLE VIEW

The Single View is the main view that gives users great overall control of the images available for a project. Its pop-up submenu allows users to access their Projects, Views and the Calendar tool to select images based on their time stamp.

Users can also use the calendar control arrows on the main display without opening the submenu to navigate quickly to the next / previous frame or day.

An information bar at the top displays project info, date and time on its left side and an info icon for weather and camera info as well as a zoom bar on its right side. Zooming also works by rolling a mouse thumb wheel.

SPLIT VIEW

Two images can be compared to see changes that have occurred on the project between date/time settings. The Split View presents two images from the same View side by side. This lets users carefully examine changes at the construction site between two image timestamps.

Each side of the screen has its own calendar and tool palette to provide independent control of the image being viewed. A common reference image makes it possible to focus on a particular area and zoom in for a detailed close-up view in the two images at once. Two Split Views options are supported, Horizontal and Vertical for added flexibility and convenience.

DUAL VIEW

In a Dual View users can view side by side two images from the same or different Views or even different Projects within two Sub-screens. Each sub-screen can be expanded to a Full Screen for detailed viewing and then collapsed back to a Sub-Screen. Each Sub-screen has its own calendar and tool palette to provide independent control of the image being viewed.

A Dual View is particularly useful to examine a project from two different views at same or different timestamps.

Quad View

In a Quad View users can view side by side four images from the same or different Views or even different Projects within four Sub-screens. Each sub-screen can be expanded to a Full Screen for detailed viewing and then collapsed back to a Sub-Screen. Each Sub-screen has its own calendar and tool palette to provide independent control of the image being viewed. A Quad View is particularly useful to examine a project from up-to four different views at same or different date/time settings.

Time Lapse

LYNXX allows users to create Time Lapse movies from images collected for any View. Users can choose the range of images to include in the movie and select the interval between the images within the selected range.

Time Laps movie show a Project’s progress from a particular View over a selected period of time. Generated Time Lapse movies are stored in a repository within the user’s space for easy retrieval and replay.

Live View

Live View provides real-time video streaming from any View. Privileged users can also remotely control camera PTZ settings to point the unit to the spot of interest.

Where Internet bandwidth permits, this feature is useful to monitor important site events such as a complex concrete cast, a complicated heavy lift or similar.

Integrated Features

Blueprints | Google Maps

Lynxx allows for the storage of projects Blueprints (engineering site layouts) and Google Maps with marked Camera locations for easy reference. Users can toggle between a Blueprint view or a Google Map view to relate various Camera Views to the actual project site layout.

Calendar Features

A rich intuitive Calendar Tool lets users select the exact date/time of the desired image. The calendar tool is accessible from within the pop-up Sub-menu and it is associated with the current view in the Single & Time Lapse Views and with the active view within the Dual, Quad or Split Views.

To simplify image selection, a collapsible “Year/Month” and “Time” scroll lists as well as monthly thumbnails images are available from within the calendar tool.

Full Screen

While viewing images within a Dual or Quad view, users can enlarge any of the Sub-Views by clicking the Full Screen icon    on the Sub-View’s information bar to view the image in full screen. Clicking again on the same icon, brings the Sub-View back to its original size within the View.

Zooming | Panning

Lynxx offer’s the possibility of Zooming from within all Views using the zoom bar inside the top information bar. Within the split view, zooming is synchronous on both sides of the split image. Within all other views, zooming within a Sub-View is independent from the other Sub-Views within the view. Zooming is also possible with mouse scrolling. Panning of zoomed images is achieved by clicking left button of the mouse and dragging the image allowing users to bring to focus any part of a zoomed image.

Favourite Views

On large sites with multiple CMUs and multiple views per CMU, users focus on different aspects of the project in line with their roles. Focus is also shifted for some users from one part of the project to another as construction progresses. For quick access to views of interest at any time, Lynxx provides users the ability to tag any view as “favourite” with shortcut access to “favourite” views. In line with Lynxx’ user-customized approach, the favourite views are user-specific. Each user can designate their own “favourite” views.

Views Filters (Active / Archived / Favourites)

Whenever a CMU is moved from its current location to a new one or simply removed, all views associated with this CMU become “archived” views in contrast to “active” views.

A user can filter view selection using “Active Views”, “Archived Views” or “Favourite Views” filters.
